Effective safety training is key to staff well-being and the success of departments across UCLA Administration. To support this, Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) has rolled out enhancements to its learning management system, Worksafe.

These changes include a refresh of the Worksafe user interface, a comprehensive course catalog, and new training matrices for departments which simplify the tracking of safety training for all employees.

Part of the UCLA Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), the customized safety training matrices ensure compliance for employees who are required to complete Cal/OSHA Title 8 trainings. The addition of this tool supports a more transparent, data-driven approach to close gaps in training by generating customized status reports for everyone from Vice Chancellors to individual employees.

Worksafe now includes a section "My Learning Tracks" with direct links to the required safety training related to your position.

In addition to addressing Cal/OSHA requirements, the Safety Training Matrix takes a step toward creating a more robust safety program on the UCLA campus. To ensure that we are achieving purposeful training implementation and fulfilling state requirements, the program will continue to be reviewed annually for efficacy and improvement opportunities.
