Administration Equity Council updates

Article Images_Equity Council

The Administration Equity Council thanks everyone who participated in the recent UCLA Administration Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Survey, which was shared during the fall quarter. A lot of important feedback was collected, and your contribution was significant. Our equity advisors are currently analyzing the data and preparing initial findings to share with the Administration Leadership Team. A report of these findings, identifying areas for growth and opportunity, will be shared with all of Administration and made available for viewing by all team members in the spring quarter.

This work is being conducted by members of the second cohort of equity advisors, who are currently serving two-year terms. This new cohort and the departments they represent include:

Administration Marketing & Communications; the Office of the Administrative Vice Chancellor; Financial and Organizational Services
Rebecca Kendall

Central Ticket Office
Laura Fernandez

Campus Human Resources
Yuri Uehara

Environment, Health & Safety
Brian Young

Events & Transportation
Abdoul Faye
Hilda Valdez

Facilities Management
Gregory Lewis
Janine Tchilingirian
Jo Anne Singer

Housing & Hospitality
Lus Huitron
Tanya Williams

They join Val Trullinger, Information Technology Services, and Sgt. Harry Stanberry, UCPD, from the first cohort.

Members of our Administration teams are encouraged to reach out to their department’s equity advisors with questions, concerns and ideas related to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Established in 2021, the Equity Council supports the recruitment and retention of a talented and successful workforce and works to create an environment where everyone can excel. More council information, including the group’s quarterly newsletter, is available online. This quarter’s newsletter includes an article about why UCLA’s land acknowledgment statement is important, as well as a variety of recommendations for great books and other resources to build your understanding of EDI issues and topics.
