UCLA Transportation Garners Special Recognition

Recently, UCLA Transportation was honored with awards for managing mobility on-demand services on campus, rideshare marketing, and a prestigious parking industry designation.

UCLA Transportation is now an Accredited Parking Organization (APO) with Distinction by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI). To earn the designation, an organization must demonstrate a comprehensive standard of excellence. UCLA Transportation proved its capabilities in planning, customer service, personnel development, sustainability, and marketing and through regular reporting, staff training programs, the utilization of new communications technologies and the support of bicycling, carpooling, vanpooling, ride-matching, and transit services earned the APO status.

IPMI also awarded UCLA Transportation’s Rideshare Month campaign a 2019 Marketing Award. The “Bruins Who Rideshare” campaign, launched during National Rideshare Month last October, showcased real-life green commuters, including our very own Michael Beck.  The campaign promoted sustainable transportation through print ads, videos, email communications, on social media, and more.

Additionally, this July at the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference, UCLA Transportation received the2019 Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Best Practice Award for Managing Campus Mobility on Demand. When electric scooters and ride-hailing services raced onto campus in 2018, UCLA Transportation stepped in to manage these new transportation options through education, engineering, and enforcement efforts.
